Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what can be removed from YouTube, how long it takes and how we work.

Can any YouTube video be removed?

No. A video can be removed if it breaks YouTube’s policies, infringes a legal right such as copyright or privacy, or has been found unlawful where you live. Videos that are merely critical, embarrassing or unflattering usually stay online unless another rule applies.

How do I know which route applies to my video?

Start from what the problem actually is: identifying information points to privacy, copied content to copyright, threats or targeting to harassment, false facts to defamation, a fake identity to impersonation. Our free case review does this for you.

How long does it take?

It varies by route and case. Copyright requests are usually processed fastest. Privacy complaints may first give the uploader a short period to edit or remove the video. Legal requests can take much longer, especially if a court order is needed.

Will the uploader find out I complained?

For copyright notices, yes: the law requires your contact details to be shared with the uploader. Privacy complaints and Community Guidelines reports do not work that way. We explain the visibility of each route before filing.

Can you guarantee removal?

No one can honestly guarantee it. YouTube, Google and courts make the final decisions. What we can do is make sure your request is the right one, complete and well evidenced.

Do you file copyright claims for content I don’t own?

No. Copyright notices may only be filed by the rights holder or someone authorised by them. Filing false claims can carry legal liability, and we will not do it.

Do you use mass reporting?

No. Coordinated flagging breaks YouTube’s rules and can backfire. We file one accurate, well-documented request per issue.

Can you remove a video from another country?

YouTube’s policies apply worldwide. Legal requests depend on the law where the content is viewed, and a removal on legal grounds may only apply in that country.

Can you remove comments as well as videos?

Comments are covered by the same Community Guidelines, so abusive or threatening comments can be reported. If the comments are on your own videos, you can also moderate them directly.

Do you need my YouTube or Google password?

Never. If a request must come from your account, we guide you to submit it yourself.

Are you a law firm?

No. We are an independent service, not a law firm, and we do not give legal advice. When a case needs a lawyer, we will tell you and can work with your legal counsel.

Are you connected to YouTube or Google?

No. We are independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google. YouTube and Google are trademarks of Google LLC.
